Hello, Carlile Families!
This is Mrs. Slaughter, Principal of this wonderful school, welcoming you to our 2015-2016 school year!
The first day of this new school year is Monday, August 31st. Our new school hours are as follows: Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m.-3:40 p.m. Fridays 8:30 a.m.-2:05 p.m. Students will be greeted outside the door closest to their classroom at 8:30 a.m. Kindergarten will go directly to the kindergarten doors on the Lincoln side of the building. Students in grades 1st, 4th and 6th and Ms. Cira's 2nd grade class will meet their teacher on the Harrison side of the building. Students in 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade will meet their teacher on the Lincoln side of the building. Teachers will be carrying a sign with their name and grade level and students will get in line with their teacher. If you do not know who your child's teacher is, school staff will be available outside with rosters to help you find your classroom.
Beginning on Tuesday, September 1st, students will be allowed to enter their classroom beginning at 8:20 a.m. but must enter the designated classroom door. These designated classroom doors are as follows: Kindergarten will enter through the kindergarten doors on the Lincoln side of the building. Students in grades 1st, 4th and 6th and Ms. Cira's 2nd grade class will enter through the doors on the Harrison side of the building. Students in 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade will enter through the doors on the Lincoln side of the building. We will not be allowing students to enter through the front doors. Please do not drop off your child any earlier than 8:20 a.m. as there is no adult supervision before 8:20 a.m. Please see your child's teacher with any questions.
Parents, you are welcome to send your child with a cold or frozen water bottle to use throughout the school day. They will be allowed to use it during the school day.
Here at Carlile, safety is our number one priority. We are asking all parents and guardians to please use caution when driving. We ask that you please utilize our crosswalks when crossing the street. We also request that you do not drop off your child in the street and have them walk across. We have a drop off and pick up loop in the back of our building. The front of the building is reserved for school buses. We ask that you do not park directly in front of the building so our students who ride the bus can get off and on the bus safely.
If you are receiving this message and you are no longer attending Carlile, it is important that you notify our school secretary as soon as possible at 549-7520. Also, please contact our office if you have any other questions or concerns.
Again, students should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. this Monday, August 31st. Please do not drop off or bring your student before 8:20 a.m. as there will be no adult supervision before 8:20 a.m.
We are looking forward to a great school year and look forward to seeing you on Monday and remember....Every Child, Every Day, We are Carlile Champions!
